Vibrock recently undertook noise and vibration monitoring of piling, drilling and other construction works associated with the reinstatement of flood defence in Matlock, Derbyshire.
The Environment Agency is working in partnership with Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Dales District Council to manage the risk of flooding from the River Derwent following collapse of a wall behind businesses in Crown Square, Matlock after a storm event in February 2022.
The aim of the £5 million project is to restore flood protection for 50 homes and businesses in the Derbyshire town. The works involved ‘Giken Supercrush’ piling machines and a ‘Liebherr LTM 1750’ one of the biggest mobile cranes in the UK with an 800 tonne maximum lifting potential.
